A gallery/ artspace is opening up in newcall tower, I’ve been asked to compose a piece for a shortfilm that will be shown there. At the moment it is sounding a little like Daedelus, which is a far cry from the “smokey jazz” spec. But met up with Finn Scholes today to extract some trumpet samples from him. Getting closer in mood. Getting warmer.

mydcoure is a 93-vignette generative music project in 3 sections: sample-based recomposition (makebelieve), FM Synthesis (synthesis), and electro-acoustic interdeterminism (transverse//undrawn). The 31 tracks each from makebelieve and synthesis are the results from a routine where a short piece of music was concieved, composed & produced every day for 4 months. transverse//undrawn is 31windows looking in upon the birth of electro-acoustic interdeterminism trio undrawing. all 93 tracks are through-writen with no harmony, melody, pulse, or form, but yet revolve on momentum and energy, intended to intermingle to create generative music.

Simon Says
240609 ndr@undrawing.org(2006) Simon Says is my first experimentation with the idea of a “shuffle album”. Compositions were centered around compatible meters and keys (ie 60, 120 or 180bpm, and a Db tonic), then their sections, rearrangements, and reharmonizations were split during the performance/recording. The concept was to use a traditional media player like a CD player to generate a dynamic music-listening experience by playing Simon Says in random order.
